PUPPET PLAYLIST #22 – Puppet Playlist Destroys Your Childhood

November 10 & 11 at Triskelion Arts

Brooklyn, NY – Sinking Ship Productions (Josh Luxenberg and Jon Levin, Co-Artistic Directors) and The Tank (Rosalind Grush and Rania Jumaily, Co-Artistic Directors) announce Puppet Playlist #22: Puppet Playlist Destroys Your Childhood on November 10 & 11 at Triskelion Arts (106 Calyer St, Greenpoint, Brooklyn). Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.puppetplaylist.com (Early Bird Special of $13 until November 5). Performances will be at 8:30pm on Thursday November 10 and 7:00pm and 9:00pm on Friday November 11.

Turn back the clock and reminisce with Puppet Playlist! What could be more fun than taking all of those pleasant memories from our childhoods, and ripping them to shreds? Join us as we celebrate the music of our childhoods – performed in a way that is NOT AT ALL suitable for kids.  Every few months, we invite a group of talented puppeteers and musicians to create original works of puppetry and exciting reinterpretations of music based on a particular musical theme (voted on by the audience at the previous show). This playlist features the music we all know and love performed in twisted ways.

Since the first show in 2009, Puppet Playlist has played to often sold-out audiences. Previous performers (and their work) have been seen all over New York and throughout the world, on, off- and off-off-Broadway, at HERE Arts Center, Shakespeare in the Park, the Metropolitan Opera, FringeNYC, Lincoln Center, with Jim Henson Productions, Sesame Street, and The Muppets.

Puppet Playlist is a presentation of Sinking Ship Productions and The Tank, and is made possible, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC), as well as by generous funding from the Puppet Slam Network.

About Sinking Ship Productions:

Sinking Ship Productions, founded by Josh Luxenberg and Jon Levin, is a Brooklyn-based theater company dedicated to the unusual and the surprising. We often choose material that is not overtly theatrical, and take particular delight in finding unexpected ways to tell the story. We draw from a wide variety of techniques, including puppetry, object manipulation, music and movement, to create distinctly visual work.

About The Tank:

The Tank is a non-profit arts presenter serving emerging artists engaged in the pursuit of new ideas and forms of expression. We serve over 1,000 artists every year in over 350 performances, and work across all disciplines, including theater, comedy, dance, film, music, public affairs, and storytelling. Our goal is to foster an environment of inclusiveness and remove the burden of cost from the creation of new work for artists launching their careers and experimenting within their art form.
