Moonwalk this way! It’s the long-anticipated Michael Jackson Puppet Playlist. We are now accepting submissions for the first show in over a year. We’re looking for short puppet pieces from our stalwarts and newcomers alike.
As we hit play on the Playlist again, we anticipate a large number of submissions. To help your submission stand out, we encourage you to SUBMIT EARLY! If you have an idea, start talking to us about it, even if your proposal isn’t fully fleshed out. If you have questions, please get in touch.
Puppet Playlist is a regular series of new short works of puppetry and music. In the six years since the show has been running, we have provided a space for puppeteers to create new work in front of an always-supportive audience. (And sold out almost every performance to boot!)
Here’s how it works: You create a short work of puppetry based on/inspired by a song from the King of Pop. You can use one or more songs in your piece, pre-recorded or live. If you’d like to team up with one of the show’s live music acts, let us know and we’ll try to pair you up.
Puppetry performances will be interspersed with live musical interpretations of Michael Jackson’s songs by some of our favorite musicians.
We strongly encourage each act to be puppet-based; however, if you make a really compelling proposal, we will also consider dance, clown, or other types of performance.
