Jon Levin is co-founder and Co-Artistic Director of Sinking Ship Productions and an international director and performer. He has also been known to perform at Puppet Playlist.
Most recently he co-created and performed in Go to Sleep, Goddamnit! at the Camden Fringe Festival in London with The Krumple theatre company, which he is also a founding member. Prior to that he performed the lead role of Akkai Akkakavich in the 2012 UK tour of Gogol’s The Overcoat, in a new adaptation by Le Mot Juste Theatre Company (Buxton Fringe Festival, Camden Fringe Festival, Wilderness Festival, among others). Sinking Ship credits include Powerhouse at the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC Excellence Award for Outstanding Ensemble) and There Will Come Soft Rains, which he adapted and directed at FringeNYC 2008 (FringeNYC Excellence Award for Outstanding Direction). Jon’s puppetry credits include Banksy’s Better Out Than In: “Sirens of the Lambs” and “The Reaper” in October 2013 and Master Peter’s Puppet Show at Loren Maazel’s Castleton Festival with the Puppet Kitchen in 2010 & 2011. Jon is a graduate of L’école Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq. He has been a participant at the Eugune O’Neill Puppetry Conference and has studied with Eric Bass at the Sandglass Summer Puppetry Intensive at the University of Connecticut. Jon holds a BA from Oberlin College in theater and neuroscience
